Guidance

Building self-esteem and character education are important elements of the overall educational experience at The Chapel School. Whether it is at a chapel service, in the classroom, on a field trip or in an extra-curricular activity, the emphasis is always on educating the whole child.

Peace Education
As part of our guidance program, each teacher in the Chapel School utilizes materials from The Peace Education Foundation (PEF) in their classroom. The mission of the PEF is to educate children and adults in the dynamics of conflict and to promote peacemaking skills in homes, schools and communities throughout the world. This mission is served by providing educational materials, training and innovative programming that make non-violent conflict resolution not merely a passing interest or fad, but a lifestyle.

Middle School Advisory Groups
Each middle school student is assigned to an advisor and an advisory group. These groups meet throughout the year to discuss relevant topics and experience character building exercises.

The Chapel School has several people on staff who are trained in the field of counseling and are available for students and their families.
