Frequently Asked Questions

Is The Chapel School an accredited school?
Yes, The Chapel School is accredited by both Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools – Commission on Elementary Schools and National Lutheran Schools Accreditation.

Do you have to be Lutheran to attend The Chapel School?
The Chapel School is owned and operated by The Village Lutheran Church and prides itself in following the great tradition of Lutheran Schools, however, most of our students are not members of a Lutheran church. We have a rather large Catholic representation in our student body, many Christian denominations represented, some non-Christian denominations and some students who are not a member of any church.

What if my child needs to attend religious instruction at my parish?
Each year a number of Chapel School students attend religious instruction classes at many different parishes.

What transportation is available to students?
The large majority of our students are driven to school by a parent/guardian or in a carpool with other students. There are a few school districts that provide transportation to students living in their district and some of our parents contract with a private bus company. Once in a while an older student will use public transportation as there is a bus stop directly across the street from us in front of Concordia College.

Where do most of Chapel School graduates attend high school?
It varies each year. Over the past decade most Chapel School graduates have moved on to Catholic high schools. In the past few years some students have been choosing to attend independent/private schools more often and, of course, some graduates choose to attend public high schools.
