Athletics

The Chapel Chargers Athletics Program is one of our signature programs, providing students opportunities to exercise, have fun and be included in a community centered around teamwork and sportsmanship.  Depending on the season and programs offered, participation is open to boys and girls in Grades 1-8.  Fall offerings include Golf at Lake Isle, Indoor Volleyball and CYO Cross Country for 4th-8th Graders.  CYO Basketball for 3rd-8th Graders runs from October through March, while 1st and 2nd graders can learn basketball basics during one or both of our 5-Week Fall and Spring Sunday Feeder Clinics.  Spring offerings include intramural softball and CYO Track and Field for 4th-8th Graders.  Students who participate in THREE seasons are inducted into The Chapel Chargers Golden Bolt Club!

Regardless of the level of competition, Charger teams are about developing a love for physical activity, a strong sense of commitment, team building skills and age-appropriate perspective about winning and losing with grace.  A percentage of our student athletes have gone on to compete and succeed at the high school level, and a percentage of those have even competed at the NCAA level.  However, as evidenced by the tremendous turnout at our annual basketball alumni game and frequent alum visits throughout the year, participation in The Chargers Athletics Programs is really just one more way for our families to strengthen their connection to The Chapel School community.

Tuckahoe Youth Association (TYA) and Tuckahoe Youth Football/Cheerleading

The Chapel School has a proud partnership with Tuckahoe Youth Association (TYA) for Softball and Baseball (T-Ball thru 13U) ... and Tuckahoe Youth Football for Flag Football, Tackle Football and Cheerleading (Grades 1-6).  Since TCS is located in 10708, our students who reside in Yonkers, Mt. Vernon and NYC are permitted to participate in these 10708-based local leagues and their travel programs.
